Holden Fockler-TAKEN-Edward Bloor-256 pages-
Taken is a very thrilling and suspenseful book. When a sick, rich girl gets kidnapped after being inspected by doctors at her, no one suspects who took her. The kidnappers were a mix of nationalities but spoke Creole. Thus, the girl was able to figure out some of the dialogue because of her experience from her school’s French class. The family the girl was taken from was very rich, so the kidnappers were trying to sell her for ransom. After an attempt to deliver the ransom, it appeared as if the girl’s father had died in a helicopter crash. After much confusion, the person who solves the mystery is the girl.

Will McKinnon-EVIL GENIUS-By Catherine Jinks 560 pages

In EVIL GENIUS, Cadel is a child genius who graduated high school at age twelve. His parents had been taking him to a therapist who is utilizing his talents in a “creative” way. And by creative I mean shutting down the entire subway system in a town and closing a bridge. He heads of to Axis, a college run by his therapist, Thaddeus Roth. But Cadel discovers that instead of biology and math, he has hacking and disguises. And when he becomes attached to a kind-hearted girl on his fake dating site, everything he knows will be questioned in his struggle to decide which side he is on and who Thaddeus Roth really is. I highly recommend this book and its sequel, Genius Squad, because of the amazing story and background that Catherine creates for each character and event.

Holes is about a young boy named Stanley Yelnats. Stanley is named this because it is his last name spelled backwards. He lives in an apartment with his mom, dad, and grandpa. He chose Camp Greenlake. At camp he met many new friends like Arm Pit, X-ray, Zig Zag, Zero, and Squid. They dug holes all day. They had to look out for yellow spotted lizards.

Grayson Meck-Holes-By Louis Sachar-233 pages
Holes is an amazing book about a boy named Stanley Yelnats. He is a boy who, supposedly , is cursed by his no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing great great-grandfather. Of course, after a long day at school, he is coming home and he is in the wrong place at the wrong time. This leads to a hard decision by the judge. He ends up picking the one I would have chosen, but it doesn’t end up being what he thinks it is. Will Stanley live after he runs away in search of his friend Hector. Read this book! You will like it!
